Story: 🎃 The Pumpkin Queen and the Gloomy Forest (The Brainrots #2)
⚠️ CONTAINS SPOILERS ⚠️
From the comic book “The Brainrots” #2 - published in October 2025
- Script and text: Sandro Savarese
- Art: Saby Asachi
In the Halloween issue of “The Brainrots” there is a story that feels like a fairy tale… until you actually start reading it.
Because here, the protagonist isn't a princess.
She is a pumpkin.
And she doesn't dream of a castle.
She dreams of something much more dangerous:
becoming an official character of the comic.
✍️ A new stroke, a new madness: Saby Asachi
This story also introduces a new name behind the panels: Saby Asachi, a new artist, with a style that makes everything more fairy-tale-like… but also gloomier.
The forests are darker.
The shadows longer.
The expressions “too real”.
Perfect for a story that begins with laughter… and ends with a forest that listens.
🎃 The Protagonist: Queen Pumpkin
She calls herself Queen Pumpkin.
She is ambitious, theatrical, and convinced that Halloween is her one-time chance to conquer the city and gain the respect of the narrative world of The Brainrots.
She has a simple plan:
- get into the story
- become indispensable
- get crowned as the official symbol of the night
Too bad that… nothing in The Brainrots stays simple.
🤝 The craziest team in the world
To pull off the feat, Queen Pumpkin joins an impossible team:
- Boneca Ambalabu
- Frigo Cammello
- Trippi Troppa
- Coco Elefanto
The official goal of the mission?
🕯️ Decorating the city for Halloween.
Garlands, pumpkins, lights, fake spiderwebs, creepy statues, fog machine smoke.
A normal job… if not for the fact that they are the ones doing it.
🌆 The City Transforms… Too Much
At first, everything goes “fine” (meaning: badly, but fun).
Then something happens.
The decorations start acting strangely:
- the pumpkins laugh when no one is looking,
- the webs grow on their own,
- the streetlights cast shadows that don't belong to anyone,
- and every garland hung seems to form symbols no one designed.
The city is becoming beautiful.
But also…
alive.
🌲 The Gloomy Forest
The turning point comes when the group goes to get the “last perfect decoration” in a forbidden place:
A forest that rarely appears in the comic.
A place where plants have memory.
And where Halloween isn't a party.
It’s a language.
Queen Pumpkin is convinced the Forest will make her legendary.
But the Forest gives nothing away.
The Forest takes.
🎭 Satire, fear, and chaos
The story is a perfect mix of:
- satire on “becoming famous at all costs”,
- absurd team gags,
- creepy moments from a warped fairy tale,
- and an ending that leaves the most important question:
Queen Pumpkin wanted to become a character.
But…
at what price?
