🌊 Dolmaris: the sunken city from which no one can escape
⚠️ SPOILER ALERT ⚠️
In the depths of the ocean, much further down than any surface dweller has ever dared to go, there exists a place that few know of.
Its name is Dolmaris.
At first glance, it might look like an extraordinary underwater city. But you only need to spend a few minutes in its streets to realize the truth:
Dolmaris is not a city. It is a giant underwater prison.
And this is where Six Seven and his friends end up in the story “Six Seven and the Sunken City”.
🏛️ A city built from what the sea carries
Dolmaris seems to have been born directly from the ocean.
The homes are built inside giant seashells, old wrecks have been transformed into palaces and towers, huge corals form bridges and streets, while glowing algae illuminate the darkest alleys.
There are doors made from ship portholes, streetlamps made with old lanterns recovered from the seabed, and squares surrounded by the massive skeletons of marine creatures.
Here and there you can even recognize objects from the surface: buoys, anchors, rudders, pieces of boats, and strange items dragged into the abyss over the years.
Dolmaris continues to grow because the sea keeps bringing it new pieces of the world.
And not just objects.
🌊 The Waves of Talasson
Behind all this hides Talasson.
Its mysterious waves reach the surface during sudden storms and drag whoever has the misfortune of being in the wrong place down into the depths.
Once captured, the victims are transported through powerful currents to Dolmaris.
And that is exactly how new inhabitants keep arriving in the city.
The problem is that...
none of them chose to live there.
⛓️ All the inhabitants are prisoners
When Six Seven and his friends reach Dolmaris, they discover something disturbing.
They are not the first.
In the streets, they meet other prisoners who arrived from the surface years ago.
Some have since built a small home.
Others have almost stopped looking for a way out.
Some, however, continue to gaze at the sea above the city every day, waiting for a chance to finally return to the surface.
But they all say the same thing:
there is no escaping Dolmaris.
🌊 The little Ondines watch every street
Talasson does not personally watch every corner of the city.
Its Ondines, small water creatures that continuously patrol Dolmaris, do that for it.
They seem harmless, but they are everywhere.
They control the streets, watch the prisoners, and intervene immediately when someone gets too close to the edge of the city.
And for those who manage to get past them, there is a second security system.
👀 Six Seven discovers the truth
When Six Seven, Trippi Troppa, and Orcalero Orcala arrive in the abyss in search of Boneca Ambalabu, they think they only have to face a rescue mission.
Then they see Dolmaris.
They see the prisoners.
They listen to their stories.
And they realize that Boneca is just one of the latest arrivals on a list that started many years ago.
At that point, the mission changes completely.
They no longer just need to find their friend.
They must manage to do something that none of the inhabitants of Dolmaris have ever managed to do:
escape the Ondines, cross the Talasson barrier, and find a way to the surface.
And maybe, while they're at it...
open that path for all the other prisoners too.
